I am scheduled to bring it in to the Apple Store (again) tomorrow. Again, no keystrokes could show up anything. I had plugged the display cable directly into the HDMI port. The power light seems to indicate that it boot, but there is no display. Now, after 2.5 months, it completely dies on me. Worked well and then after a month, I notice that occasionally the display goes blank and I had to force shut & reboot it back up nothing I could do to wake it up. I was then away for half and month and when I came home, I did not want to migrate my files, so I started it up and use it. It was within the 7 days, so they offer me a new one and I took it. So I had to make a trip to the Apple Store. All keystrokes were tried, test and does not work. The Mac Studio goes into a perpetual boot up cycle. Thereafter is the start of my first problem. It's like on boot, the display and the Mac just aren't in sync and the only way to get them to be in sync is to either restart the monitor or wait until the Mac gets back to the OS level and then the display will work again.Īround 2 months ago, I bought my first Mac Studio, came home and migrated my files over from my MacBook. While I can't totally dispute that as this is my first 4K display, I've never seen this before on any Mac I've owned running any Mac OS with any monitor. I spoke to Apple about this and they say it's sort of expected behavior. I've think I've seen the same thing with trying to go into the recovery partition on the MacPro. If I'd boot with the option key so I could pick a different boot partition, the display would go black until I restarted the display, then I could see the boot menu options. I've seen something similar when I had this display connected to a Mac Pro (2013). After doing that, I could see where the update progression was. I went to update the Studio to 12.4 today, which also went well, but when the Mac rebooted the display went black and stayed that way until I powered it down and back up. It's connected to my Mac Studio via HDMI. Mac Studio External display goes black while rebooting I have a new Samsung 4K 32" display.
